Students
enrolled in our program have the opportunity to participate in a
variety of fieldtrips organized by ACALLI |

Saturdays- half-day excursions in the state of Morelos. We offer the
following possibilities: |
Zempoala lakes: in the north of morelos
Mercado de Hueyapan: typically place with ancient traditions, famous
for its hand-made textiles.
Las Estacas: resort center.
Hacienda Vista Hermosa: famous for its collection of ancient
carriages, gardens, golf course and restaurant.
Tepoztlan: with its Dominican church, convent, pyramid, museum of
archeology
Cacahuamilpa Caverns: famous for their incomparable beauty and have
interesting stalactite and stalagmite formations.
Hacienda de cocoyoc: a hotel constructed around the 16th century
Xochicalco: ceremonial site for the Xochicalca Indians. |

Sundays- excursions outside of the State of Morelos; These trips last
a full day. We have visited the following places: |
Mexico City: Museum of Anthropology and Folkloric Ballet
Colonial Mexico: Visit to museums, the University and the Market
"Walls of Fire" is the metaphor used for the Mexican muralist movement
which can be seen in the Fine Arts Palace, the National Palace and
Polyforum Siqueiros.
Taxco: A visit to Mexico's well-known silver-mining town with its
silver shops, plaza, cathedral, and its colonial sites.
Teotihuacan: The most important prehispanic city in North America with
its two imposing pyramids.
Acapulco: Two nights and three days to the famous Mexican beach
resort. Departing Friday at 2 p.m., returning Sunday at 8 p.m.
Puebla: Visit the churches and artisan markets.
Areas around Mexico City: Places such as the Pyramids of the Sun and
the Moon at Teotihuacan, the Museum of Anthropology, the Templo Mayor
in the center of the Valley of Mexico, and the Folkloric Ballet
presented at Palace of Fine Arts are frequent destinations. |

These trips will introduce you to colonial areas, archaeological sites
and vacation areas. We hope to give you an introduction to the Mexican
culture while enabling you to have a fun-filled vacation. |
